About

UCA Canterbury plays host to 25º, graduate show of the MA Fine Art 2012. The show, part of the UCA Canterbury MA Show, will open to the public at 5pm on the evening of Friday the 7th September 2012 at the UCA campus in New Dover Road, Canterbury.

The MA Fine Art course encourages a multi-disciplinary approach that explores both the material practice of art-making and the contexts that make it meaningful. This year's graduate show includes exciting new works in Painting, Sculpture, Installation, Illustratio
n, Video and Photography, and will run until 12th September, (open between 10am and 5pm daily).

The course, led by Dr Terry Perk, focuses on the development of individual creative projects at Masters level. Supporting students in expanding their thinking and technical skills, the MA programmes at UCA are designed to enable artists to develop and refine their critical and conceptual engagement within their practice.

MA Fine Art builds on an established tradition of art education at Canterbury, which has a prestigious history, helping shape the careers of numerous artists including Humphrey Ocean, Jayne Parker & Marcus Coates.

Terry Perk, Subject Leader for the Fine Art course at UCA Canterbury said, "This exhibition is the result of an intensive period of study. The variety of media and conceptual approaches that the MA fosters is amply demonstrated in the work on display, which ranges from narrative video to performances, and painting to site-specific installations."
